Year Long Program

During the school year, we will have three different sessions for training- fall, winter and spring. Registrations will need to be completed for the start of each season and each season will cost $25 if you are an out of season athlete. The sessions will remain at Shakopee High School and our athletic coaches will still be involved, however the program itself will be run under the direction of the Training Haus Head Coach. 

 

Those athletes in a sport during the season DO NOT need to register.  Their registration is included in their sport registration (example: football players do not need to register for the fall training session). However, you DO need to register if your sport is not currently in season (example: boys basketball players need to register for the fall session if they do not play a fall sport). 

 

In order for the Activities Office to receive your registration, it must be fully completed, paid and submitted.  At this point, no financial assistance is available for the $25 fee. However, volunteer time may be requested through our office to make up for the fee.

Lettering Criteria

Saber Strength Varsity Letter

For a student to get a Varsity in Saber Strength they must meet the following criteria:

  • Be in grades 9-12
  • Must be registered to participate through www.shakopeesabers.com
  • Attend 75% of assigned workouts during season
  • Perform a Pre-Test (beginning of season) and Post-Test (end of season), demonstrating overall improvement in testing categories over the course of the season
  • Type a 1-page paper reflecting on what you learned/enjoyed during weightlifting

Seasons:

  • Fall: 9/4 - 11/17 (11 weeks)
  • Winter: 11/29 – 2/23 (11 weeks)
  • Spring: 2/28 – 5/19 (11 weeks)

Workouts

  • There will be 4 assigned workouts per week, 44 workouts total. 75% of the workouts must be attended.  There will be a sign in sheet to keep track of attendance.
  • The weight room will be open for Saber Strength every morning from 6:45 – 7:35 and every afternoon for a 45-minute time slot between 3 – 5:15.

  • Upper Body Strength/Endurance
