The athletes that our captains recognized for this past week are listed below as well as why they were recognized.

  • Riya Shah - She had a great meet at Lakeville North on Thursday. she took 1st in the High Jump with a jump of 4'8''. This is a huge mark for her so Congratulations to Riya! ~ Selected by Lauren DuBois
  • Allie Lund - Allie is a great all around athlete. She ran an outstanding 400 open and split in each meet this last week. She also is always positive and encouraging towards all teammates which makes her energy very contagious! ~ Selected by Rebecca Hansen
  • Parker Knox  - Parker has shown a lot of improvements and has PR'd many times this season. He is always pushing himself to do better and I admire that in him. He is always cheering for his friends and encouraging them on. I can't wait to see where all his hard work and determination gets him. Hope to see more athletes like him in the future.  ~ Selected by Joel Makem
  • Brandon Connelly & Abraham Ochalla - I am recognizing Brandon because he had an amazing performance at high jump at the Lakeville North meet with a pr of 5' 11"! He has been working really hard at practice which is clearly paying off.  I am recognizing Abe because he performed really well at the Lakeville North meet after being in a bit of a slump but he kept a positive attitude and was able to get out of his slump and is now one of our top high jumpers. ~ Selected by Erika Schoenecker
  • Aaron Lee - Aaron has been recovering from injuries for the past couple of weeks, and he was finally able to compete this past week. He ran an 11.7 100 Meter Dash and a 23.97 200 Meter Dash—placing second in both events! Aaron is a great addition to the track team and I cannot wait to see him continue to PR as the season goes on! ~ Selected by Halle St. Martin
  • Lataiya Jackson - At the jv meet she got a pr of 3 feet in shotput, she’s been working really hard in practice to become better and she’s a fun person to be around ~ Selected by Faith Vosika
  • Awaiting selection ~ Selected by Hope Vosika
  • Anastasia Zebrev  - I chose Stasia because she has been working very hard in Practice and she ran a PR in the 3200m and is our top girl 2 miler and she's only in 7th grade. She's got a lot of potential and is going to crack the 3200m all time top 20 list very soon. ~ Selected by Braden Burger
  •  Brennen Bawek - Brennen jumped 18"10 in the Lakeville North meet placing 3rd. Not only was this an amazing jump, it was enough to get him on varsity as an 8th grader. There are very high hopes for him with long jumping for the future. ~ Selected by Tim Hames
  • Colin Hokanson - Hokie has been working hard all season and ran a 5:13 mile PR at the JV meet. He's continued to improve all season and I know he his pushing himself to try and get a varsity spot. ~ Selected by Jakob Hanson
  •  Awaiting selection ~ Selected by Andrew McCall
  • Alan Thomas - Alan has been putting in the work at practice and it has been paying off. He ran a 18.55 110 meter hurdle witch is his new pr. Alan is an outgoing guys trying to get better at what he does every single day. ~ Selected by Vincenzo Miller
  • Nihar Vakkayil - At the Lakeville North meet, Nihar vaulted for his second time ever in a real meet situation. He ended up with a PR and he also tied for second place. I am really excited and optimistic to see how he grows as a vaulter as the season goes on. Great Job Nihar!  ~ Selected by Ryan Piotraschke
  • Natan Gonzalez - Natan Gonzalez is the most focused athlete in the throwing crew. Natan would make a great captain next year because of his great attitude. He works extraordinarily with his teammates despite the competition to make a spot on varsity. He views the team objectively and only wants the best for his peers. ~ Selected by Ben Sedlacek
